Fr. Rob's Update
is here, with lots of very interesting stuff, including the fact that Michael Schiavo is going to be on Larry King tomorrow for a full hour, by himself, and not even a single invitation was extended to the Schindler family.
Here's CNN's Larry King page, with contact links.
I think that Fr. Rob's presence and blogging here is evidence of the real value of this medium - opinionating is one thing, but being able to post first-hand reports, unmediated by the institutional press, is the most important element of blogging, the quality that has drawn people to it from 9/11 to Iraq to all sorts of other situations around the country and around the globe, such as this. If it's not already been, I hope someone will soon post links to what Fr. Rob is doing and writing at The Corner and other widely-read internet sites.
I think this is the article Fr. Rob refers to about the Schindlers' faith.

Amy, as I have said in other places, the reason why the Spinmeisters (such as Larry King), the Bioethicists, and now the Anti-Christ's Lawyers' Union (ACLU) want Terri DEAD is related to why the legal definition of Marriage is also being destroyed piece-by-piece. It's all part of the same Culture War; the final objective is the same: the complete and absolute extirpation of any vestige of Xnty from the public life in this country.

Well, other religions value marriage and other behavioral restrictions and social institutions as well. Which is something these anti-Christians always seem to forget. I still remember the big sucking sound of disappointment that emanated from many of the Dalai Lama's fans when he didn't give the green light to homosexual activity, instead telling them that Buddhism was all about denying the desires of the body. (I read an interview in some magazine, and then the letters to the editor the next issue were all: "But -- but I thought he was cool!" That was the gist, anyway.)

There is a particularly hateful cartoon in the Indianapolis STAR this morning--which they don't put up on their website--from a paper in Rome NY. It shows goofy demonstrators with such signs as "What do husbands know?" and proclaiming that WWJD means "What would Jeb Do?" The chattering classes are really angry at us for making an issue here. Want to bet Larry King doesn't ask about the pregnant girlfriend as incentve to kill Terri as soon as possible? And if we don't like the media treatment now, wait for the inevitable made-for-TV movie.

Just sent my criticism of the Larry King upcoming show. Please, others, send more before the show airs and tell them just how unfair and unbalanced this looks and continues to promote a Culture of Death. Tell them to go to Terri's site and do some research for the other side. Tell them to get the Schindlers and the caregivers who have testified against Michael and told of his real intentions. Those caregivers would make a real difference to a viewing public which only sees the situation framed as "vegetative".

The Orlando Sentinel article Amy linked, by Sean Mussenden, is indeed the one I referred to in my blog.

I sure wish Andrea Harris or Judie Brown could have a go at Michael Schiavo too... I'd pay money to see that!!

Does Larry King accept phone questions during the show?
Posted by: Lynn at Oct 26, 2003 10:49:40 PM
Apparently he does (I never watch him). Maybe someone will call in and challenge Michael.

Does Larry's show accept call ins?
He does....but believe me, they are screened to fit the intention of producers. Better that we e-mail "Larry King show" as Amy has given us links BEFORE the program with demands for same time to be given to the Schindlers AND the caregivers who have testified to Michael's real desires for Terri. I've e-mailed the program and I've sent e-mails to O'Reilly@foxnews.com as well as Hannity and Neil Cavuto (also Catholic and seemingly level headed) to request an "exclusive" with the Schindlers and caregivers on any or all of their programs.

I don't know if I'd expect much from O'Reilly. We don't have TV here any more, but when we were visiting the in-laws about a month ago, he had Felos and the Schindler's lawyer on. O'Reilly sided with Felos, kept talking about how Terri was in a coma, etc. But you never know. Maybe he's not to proud to admit that he was wrong.
