As most of you know, Andrew Sullivan is taking a hiatus of sorts from blogging. Speculation abounds as to why, but as for himself, he states that it's all about needing to think and work on a bigger scale than a blog allows. He's right, and that's why I don't blog as much as I used to (believe it or not), and that's why Shea had to take a hiatus to finish a book. As I wrote to Mark when he started his break, "We start out intending to use the blog, but too often the blog ends up using us." Or something like that.
Anyway, Justin Katz has posted his lengthy, meticulous analysis of Sullivan's stance on gay marriage that's in the National Review. Good stuff.

Why wouldn't people just take him at his word?
Though I never had a blog of his or your caliber or volume, I can understand being tired of it. One's thinking feels fragmented and one feels compelled to find the next thing to blog on, the next story to dissect.
