Suspended doctor didn't like doing abortions
A Jackson abortion doctor was suspended indefinitely Thursday by a state medical board following testimony that he did not like performing some 35,000 abortions but did so because he needed the work.
"I ask for your forgiveness," Dr. Malachy Dehenre said. "I don't want to be an outcast. I want to be among the medical community."
Dehenre, 54, of Laurel, had been temporarily suspended by the state Board of Medical Licensure since August. He had performed abortions at the New Woman Medical Center on Briarwood Drive in Jackson, which closed in August. The board followed similar action taken in December by an Alabama medical board that found gross malpractice in four abortions, including two in Jackson.
.....The Alabama suspension was ordered in December, and Dehenre told board members, "My Christmas was ruined."

Wow. If there was an "Open Book Scum of the Earth Award," I'd nominate this guy.
Suspended in Alabama and Mississippi. "The board followed similar action taken in December by an Alabama medical board that found gross malpractice in four abortions, including two in Jackson.
In one of the Alabama cases, a woman died 18 hours after having an abortion. Each of the women in the other three cases required hysterectomies to stop massive hemorrhaging from uterine perforations. The abortions occurred between 2000 and 2003."
His sad story:

Board members sat quietly as Dehenre pleaded for reinstatement, recalling his immigration from Nigeria, his practice in New York and the time he spent performing abortions in Jackson and Birmingham, beginning in about 1997.
"I found work in Jackson, and it happened to be an abortion clinic in which an obstetrician was needed," he said. "I needed money to pay expenses and education for my children. It was supposed to be temporary, but it turned out to be longer. ... I was in a position I didn't want to be in, but I needed work."

He certainly needs work.
[block quote]
"The punishment they gave me was just. It may have been harsh, but it was just. It was not my surgical technique they were concerned about, it was my ability to handle complications."
The Alabama suspension was ordered in December, and Dehenre told board members, "My Christmas was ruined."

One woman died accidentally; others suffered major injuries. And he killed 35,000 babies. That doesn't bother him. But his suspension ruined his Christmas.
Can I throw up now?

Unless there is more than one abortion clinic in Birmingham, Summit is the clinic bombed by Eric Rudolph. I venture to guess that everyone has heard of that. Anybody ever heard of this woman who died there? Not me, and I live in Alabama.

Dear Maclin,
[block quote]
In the Alabama case, a woman at the Summit Medical Center was discharged 20 minutes after having an abortion on Nov. 25, 2003. She sustained an unrecognized uterine perforation during the abortion, the Alabama board said. Less than six hours later, her husband contacted the medical center and said she had abdominal pain and a low temperature. She died about 18 hours after her discharge, Alabama investigators found.
The woman is identified as Leigh Ann Stephens Alford, 34, of Blount County, Ala., in court papers filed in June by her husband. The court filing is the first stage of a wrongful death and negligence lawsuit against Summit Medical Center of Alabama and the doctor and staff that treated her.

I found this thread by accident while I was searching for "whatever happened to that creep".
HIS CHRISTMAS WAS RUINED?????!!!!
I knew one of his victims. She had a funeral parlor jam packed with family and friends in disbelief and 4 children who's Christmas was ruined because Mommy was dead. Although I personally don't agree with the choice she made, she was afterall a human being and did not deserve to be butchered and her children did not deserve to lose their Mom. Most of all, this piece of work does not deserve to practice medicine. I guess the true meaning of Christmas according to this man is being able to perform abortions. If my memory serves,we're sopposed to celebrate a BIRTH on that day. Now, those who are throwing up, I'll join you in the vommitorium.
BTW- I think Rudolph bombed the New Woman clinic, not summit (unless they are affiliated somehow).
