Dear "Mere Populizer":

Don't worry! I suspect battalions of populizers will be needed to explain what the academics will be talking about.

Not a new word; should be "popularizer."

The O'Connor novel is excellent; I read it last summer. I'm looking forward to reading more in the Loyola Classics series; I don't think any serious argument can be made against any of the works presented do far.

Aw, Todd, but we'll give you points for trying...which you probably did.

Amy - I hate to say it, but I'm not sure that the "mere populizer" wouldn't do a better job -- not only in presentation, but even in content! -- than a lot of academics. Too many scholars are experts at making what is clear, opaque.

Viper's Tangle is indeed a classic. I don't think any Catholic who appreciates good fiction would go wrong picking it up.
