I could think of a few more lucrative occupations to fake . . . .

I guess if you're a trained organist, being the Pope's organist would be the brass ring.
I actually heard Goettsche give a recital at the Cathedral in Omaha a while back.
Unless it was an imposter....hmmmm.....

thanks for the link, bet our church organist will get a kick out of it.

I also attended the Omaha recital. If it was an impostor, he was a darn good one at playing the organ.
Speaking of impostors, I thought Goettsche is from Omaha...? That's what the one who played the recital said, anyway. And the people at St. Cecilia (the cathedral) seemed to recognize him.

I heard Goettsche in Orlando.
He spoke English with a slight Italian accent. He's been in Italy for a long time. He looks like a short, dumpy American.
His organ playing is NOT dumpy in any respect.

So Dark the con of man!
Nevertheless, If I am thinking correctly Goettesche is an alumnus of my alma mater at Conception Abbey - the very place where he learned to play the organ! He was back a few years ago to play at the Alumni banquet (he played at Mass, but he also played a concert after dinner)

Brad Haas,
If I remember correctly, Goettsche grew up in Omaha but moved when he was still a young boy.
I thought his choice of music was odd. A little went a long way - too many minor chords. We actually left early. But we had a baby with us, too.

Obviously a slow news day.

Awwwll right, stupid joke.
Why did Bach have so many children?
Yup. No stops on his organ ...
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.
