An animated Pope
A 1-hour cartoon on the life of John Paul II - "Friend of All Humanity" - is being released this week. Produced by Cavin Cooper Productions in Barcelona in cooperation with Vatican Television. The trailer is available here. All we see is the characters who provide the framing device for the narrative - a book and a pen - and I'll just say the trailer is fairly lame. Too bad. Perhaps the actual Pope material is better...

Thank you for all the work you do for Our Lord and His Mother. Great site! (I write for Catholic Exchange too.)

Shame! I hoped it may have been based on the comic book that was well received in my CCD class when we used it to learn more about him on his passing last year.
From the trailer, appears to be another commercial boondoggler prospecting amongst the gullible, or a ham-fisted attempt to spoonfeed "his doctrines" to the adults who ignore them via their kids?

Lame for sure. Why?
Someone hoping for a *huge* US/English market for this cartoon stuff.
Does not translate. Too much dialogue and explanation. No story. Really bad for kids and maybe even worse for adults 'cause who wants to listen to a talking book and pen?
Kinda like some other Italian works we've "received" over the years.
But it is just the trailer...
Next?

Trying to watch this turns off the sound on my computer. Anyone know why? Even without sound, it still looks pretty lame.
