The Palm/Passion Sunday reports are WONDERFUL...from all over, including a prison, including China.

Read them...and join in.

All I can say is...someday, I want to be part of a Palm Sunday procession that's led by a guy on a horse!

(or a donkey)

Meanwhile...around the world. (click on photos for credits and captions)

(More photos from around the world here.)

With the cross, Jesus opens wide the door of God, the door between God and men. Now it is open. But also from the other side the Lord knocks with his cross: He knocks at the door of the world, at the doors of our hearts, which so often and in such great numbers are closed to God. And he speaks to us more or less in this way: If the proofs that God gives of himself in creation do not succeed in opening you to him; if the word of Scripture and the message of the Church leave you indifferent -- then look at me, your Lord and your God. It is this call that in this hour we let penetrate our hearts. May the Lord help us to open the door of our heart, the heart of the world, so that he, the living God, might, in his Son, arrive in our time and touch our lives. Amen. .

I know I belong to the one Universal Church but these photos help remind me of that & lift my heart above our local parish. Great post!

Wow. I love looking at these pictures. I wish our parish tried a little harder!

These great photos teach that the Roman Catholic Church in the U.S. is not the center of the universe. This is a great reminder that we are just one part of a global community of believers.

Amy,
What a beautiful group of pictures! After the blasphemous 'Obama as Jesus' in Chicago and other awful portrayals of Our Lord in the news, what came to mind is, THIS is how Jesus should be treated! I am so grateful that I am Catholic!
Thank you, Amy!!!!

Amy, thank you. I shared these pictures with my children as another reminder that their home parish is not the center of the universe. Of course, they did like seeing our Cathedral, and are now bugging me to go to Mass "with the Bishop"... a good kind of bug to get!

Fascinating pictures at the link to "guy on a horse." Remarkably beautiful church in a rural area, with the old high altar restored and now back in use after a fire. Great pictures at the link.

It seems that the move to Mass with the priest on the people's side went over well with the congregation.

Here's better than awesome: Gashwin put up a YouTube video of that Indian Syriac service he describes in his article. Talk about active participation!
