Pittsburgh, you have your bishop...

But, Green Bay, you lost yours..

Former Pittsburgh Auxiliary David Zubik, bishop of Green Bay since 2003, named new Bishop of Pittsburgh.

Also Vatican-related, The Vatican CIty State now has its own webpage.

The site is very well done - and has links to several webcams. (Bottom left of the page = they're not streaming, unlike the one honed on St. Peter's Square that the CATV site runs when not broadcasting a papal event - but seem to refresh every once in a while.)

Now that under the new leadership in the Vatican, Pittsburgh has a bishop from Pittsburgh, perhaps Green Bay can get a bishop from Green Bay.

" In May 2005, His Excellency Bishop David Zubick elevated the status of the Green Bay apostolate from "Chapel" to "Oratory." The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest is thereby granted the perpetual privilege of keeping registers for all Sacraments, including marriages."

Which should reassure folks worried about the diocesan reception of the MP in Pittsburgh.
